Based on the picturesque and historic Leonardtown, in St. Mary’s County, Maryland, featuring the beautiful town square, surrounded by charming brick buildings, modern cars, the WWI Monument, a cute dog and a couple of people casually  chatting.
I painted it to illustrate the resonance between a historic town and contemporary life. The atmosphere is that of tranquility, while still carrying the daily activities of the 21st century.
Leonardtown is Southern Maryland’s Art District, so I thought it would be the best subject to be perpetuated in a work of art! I had fun painting every little detail, using a magnifying glass, small brushes, and acrylics.
It is my hope that everyone who sees this painting, will feel the lovely feelings I had while painting it, and that those feelings can be carried in your heart throughout your day!
