In New Mexico, USA, there are paper luminaries during the Holiday Season, which light the paths and the scenes. I wanted to make a minimalist painting featuring them, with the lights leading you into the enigmatic beauty of the season, illuminating the path through the desert plants, in an area with a fountain, via Southwestern style doorways, for you to enjoy the Festival of Lights. I imagine the crisp evening air, the peppery looking sky with the stars shining bright, and the typical desert plants being highlighted by the lights coming from the luminaries...
